I believe is important to make the distinction between something that is made of ( Porcelain ) and something that is ( Ceramic ). Porcelain is of a much higher quality than Ceramic and is much more resistant to damage, Porcelain is fired in a kiln at a much higher temperatures and is made of less porous materials. Ceramic is perfectly adequate to use as “Oven to Table” and go though robust testing to make sure it is fit for purpose, but Porcelain is just that bit more of a better product.
