In doing so, DJR becomes the first team in ATCC/Supercars history to achieve the incredible feat – and what better place to celebrate the milestone than at the famous Mount Panorama circuit, which holds such a significant place in the history of the team. Officially established in 1980 and entered in their first Australian Touring Car Championship race at Symmons Plains in Tasmania in 1981 where Dick Johnson raced his legendary Tru-Blu XD Falcon, the team has remained a constant in Australia’s main game of motorsport ever since. In the hearts and minds of a legion of passionate fans, DJR are Australia’s Ford team. They have raced a variety of iconic Falcons, Sierras and Mustangs with some of the the biggest names in motorsport behind the wheel, taking out 10 drivers’ championships and a horde of race wins, pole positions and podium finishes along the way. And of course, 4 legendary Bathurst 1000 victories. To celebrate the milestone, the team at Shell V-Power Racing dug into their extensive history of race cars over the past 40 years and have created an absolutely stunning retro livery which will be raced by both Will Davison / Alex Davison in car 17 and Anton De Pasquale / Tony D’Alberto in car 100, with the number change from De Pasquale’s regular season number 11 paying tribute to Repco’s 100th anniversary celebrations. The 1000 races celebration livery blends the old and the new perfectly and will make an incredible collectable for fans of Dick Johnson Racing.
