The team made its official debut in 1981 at Symmons Plains in Tasmania, competing in the Australian Touring Car Championship. With Dick Johnson behind the wheel of the iconic No. 17 Tru-Blu Ford Falcon XD, the team claimed a memorable victory. That first win in 1981 set Johnson, wife Jillie, and their crew firmly on the path to becoming one of the most iconic and successful race teams in Australian motorsport. Now, more than 40 years later in 2025, the team continues to make history, reaching a remarkable milestone—its 150th championship race win. This landmark victory was secured by star drivers Brodie Kostecki and Todd Hazelwood in the No. 38 Shell V-Power Racing Team Ford Mustang GT at the 2025 AirTouch 500 at The Bend.
